In a move that will surprise no one, EA has just put its super-successful racing series Need for Speed up on the App Store. Do you need it?

At a price of £5.99, the iPhone game has a nice variety of cars and encourages players to "drive your own way" - whether it's aggressive, or more precise driving.

We're getting used to the on-screen controls -- and to put it bluntly, it would need to try pretty hard to be worse than some of the other iPhone racers out there. It has the roster of features you'd expect from a Need for Speed title, including the ability to customise the look and performance of your vehicle.

It looks decent too, but then, it had better look decent for six of my English pounds. Why on earth don't we have a free App Store account yet? Sort it out, Edwin!
