Hold the phone. PlayFish, fresh from its acquisition by controversy-courter Electronic Arts, has unveiled Poker Rivals, a sure-to-be addictive blend of social networking and good old fashioned Texas Hold 'Em.
There have been two positive consequences. The first is that we've been able to update our Cards & Board category for the first time in 1.5 gazillion years. The second is that I may at last be able to get my cardsharp grandpa on Facebook. Come on, gramps - the real high-rollers deal in virtual gold.
The app's in beta at the moment, so be ready for the odd glitch. You can buy new avatar clothes, decorations and - if you're lucky enough - apartments with your winnings.
Alternatively, why not wind back the clock a century or two and cut a deck with the Governor of Poker?
Play Poker Rivals
