SPORE Islands is a cartoon evolution sim without the sex. In place of good old rumpy-pumpy, you've got family-friendly egg-laying. Right lot of prudes, the guys at EA Maxis.

The idea is to breed - sorry, evolve - an indomitable lifeform, sewing together a torso, limbs, head, attributes, behaviours, etc and pitting the results against the concoctions of other Facebookers.

Each fledgling species will earn points depending on how successfully it exterminates/evades/out-populates its rivals on each island. These points can then be used to customise it further. Will you boost your beastie's stamina to let it go longer between meals, or just cover the thing with odious warts?

Cyto Life is more hands-on, while Caverns has a puzzle feel to it.
