The Beggar

Scott Brodie's The Beggar is the best kind of political game - one which isn't loud about its own politics. Its impact relies partly on you working things out for yourself, so I suggest skipping the following paragraphs if you don't want to spoil things.

As one of life's outcasts, you must scrape a living in a world of unfeeling cuboid characters, staying ahead of rising food prices and avoiding corrupt police.

Move with the arrow keys. Press down to emit a sound wave. Any passersby caught in the wave will react in a number of ways - they may ignore you, they may scatter change at your feet or they may rat on you to nearby coppers.

Eating is important. You can find fish at the pier to the left, but bread will last you longer (and cost you more).

There are four different endings. Share your stories on the developer's blog.
