Once upon a time, geometry was a stale subject - all dry formulas, sharpened pencils and buttoned-up collars. Then an absolutely mental arcade shooter called Geometry Wars popped up on Xbox Live and changed maths lessons forever.

Many are the free online games that have payed tribute to this colossus, but Vector Effect is amongst the most faithful.

Steer with WASD, aim and shoot with the mouse. Shatter enough hostile LEGO Technic pieces and you'll level up, receiving skill points to lavish on ship upgrades like an increased fire rate, spread shot, auto-repair and so forth.

How about that rippling 3D lattice backdrop, eh? Almost makes Heavy Weapons look rubbish.
