Unlike pretty much every World War II game at retail, D-Day Defender attempts to view the Allied landings of 1944 through German eyes.
You control a machine-gun overlooking Normandy's beaches. With eventual defeat assured, you must hold out for as long as you can. Point and click to fire on your attackers.
The longer you last, the more fearsome the assault becomes. Reload with A, hit S to use an "engineer power-up" such as bunker repairs, and hit D to launch a mortar strike once charged.
The voice-over is a little cringeworthy, but we think this is an interesting take on very well-handled subject matter. Do you agree?
